Every two weeks, Euralis Seeds will publish a newsletter, in partnership with Agritel, on trends and the agricultural market.

Lets’ see, how market situation has evolved since last two weeks.

Oilseed complex:

The increase in global demand, coupled with production falls in Indonesia and Malaysia, has driven palm prices up. The canola harvests have been interrupted in Canada because of snow. Even though canola prices in Winnipeg are showing little or no reaction to this at the moment, this additional factor will tighten the situation for European rapeseed. The sunflower harvests are ongoing in the Black Sea, with good production levels. Lastly, the soybean sowings are advancing in good conditions in Brazil and Argentina, and bringing pressure to bear on prices in Chicago.

Cereals complex:

The production levels of the 2019/20 harvests have been taken on board by the market, even though Argentina and Australia are still harvesting. Exports will now be closely monitored as will conditions for the next campaign, whilst Europe and Ukraine have sown in difficult conditions.

On the maize market, the US harvest is not yet over, whilst Ukraine is exporting at record levels.

The barley market is still sluggish with no real signs of improvement.
