DLG Feldtage in Germany

Agricultural area in Germany totals around 16.7 million hectares, 12 million hectares of which is arable land. Around 275,000 of these farms are family-run businesses. Arable farmers generate annual net sales of 8.79 billion euros, producing crops worth 28 billion euros. The most common crop is winter wheat grown on 3.25 million hectares, followed by maize, winter rape and winter barley.
To support the agricultural market, the Deutsche Landwirtschafts Gesellschaft (DLG) Feldtage is the largest agricultural outdoor fair held every two years in Germany since 1988. It took place from the 12th to the 14th of June 2018 on the grounds of the DLG in Bernburg Strenzfeld. During this fair, more than 300 exhibitors of the agricultural sector present theirs varieties for more than 20 000 visitors.
In addition, Euralis explained the organic varieties on a second stand with about 200 m². An information platform for those interested in organic farming set up at this occasion to exhibit Euralis organic varieties of the crops corn, sunflower, soybean and to develop technical topics for organic farmers related to Euralis varieties.
